Office Hours & Meetings
To schedule a meeting, please email me at askonas@cua.edu. Include your course, a brief description of what you’d like to discuss, and two or three times that work for you.
Letters of Recommendation
I am happy to write letters of recommendation for students I know well. Please give me at least four weeks’ notice and provide the following:
- A draft of your personal statement or application materials
- A description of the program or position you are applying for
- A list of deadlines
- A reminder of the work you did in my course(s)

Seminars & Programs
Beyond regular coursework, I co-organize and co-teach the following programs:
The Machine Has No Tradition — A week-long intensive seminar on the philosophy of technology for graduate students and young professionals, co-taught each summer with Nathan Pinkoski and Mary Harrington at Harvard. Past guest speakers have included Matthew Crawford, Andy Crouch, and Erica Bachiochi.
The Constitutional Fellows Program — Teaching in CUA’s program for congressional staffers and policy professionals on constitutional foundations of American government.
